A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

Our staging of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" offers a theatrical vision inspired by the traditional stage, simultaneously popular, musical, accessible, and funny, while addressing current societal themes.

At the heart of the play is Love, represented by the character of Puck. Love also manifests itself through Bottom, the passionate young lovers, and the patriarchal impositions. The struggle between Oberon and Titania symbolises the conflict between the masculine and feminine, between love that protects life and the desire for power.Shakespeare explores the different forms of Greek love: Eros, Ludus, Agape, Mania, Philia, and Storge, and portrays humanity confronted with these powerful forces.

The play is a battle that takes place within the realm of a dream, where the young lovers follow their instincts, sometimes aided by nature and Puck's magic. The artisans play an important role in this struggle, especially Bottom, who is transformed into a donkey. The tragedy of Pyramus and Thisbe is another allegory of passionate love, which is not ridiculed but presented as a genuine tragedy.

The play also explores the duality between love and death. The staging, writing, and adaptation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a story of transmission across three generations: from master Mario Gonzalez to his student Rafael Bianciotto, who has now become the mentor of the young Lucas Rastoll. Under their guidance, Shakespeare's work is refreshed with an adaptation that blends tradition and modernity. The actors use masks, puppets, and clown noses within a contemporary set. The magical forest resonates with the enchanting music of Jean-Luc Priano.

The show offers an explosive performance that is tenderly tragic and terribly comical, taking the audience on a suspended journey.Athenians, fairies, and elves meet in a magical forest, accompanied by the enchanting, slightly rock 'n' roll music of Jean-Luc Priano. The audience can rest assured that the fantastical universe of the show pays homage to the work of William Shakespeare with an explosive performance that is both tenderly tragic and terribly comical. They embark on a suspended journey from which they do not emerge unscathed."
